NBC Sports Presents Exclusive Broadcast Coverage of the North American International Auto Show

DETROIT, Dec. 13 /PRNewswire/ -- NBC Sports will present a two-hour special broadcast of the "International Auto Show" on Sunday, Jan. 21, at 1 p.m. ET. The "International Auto Show" will feature exciting new production and concept vehicles unveiled for first time at the 2007 North American International Auto Show (NAIAS) in Detroit. The "International Show" special will allow automotive enthusiasts from across the nation to step into the most celebrated auto event in North America.

"The NAIAS was a great success for NBC Sports last year reaching millions of viewers," Jon Miller, executive vice president, NBC Sports, said. "We're delighted to partner with them once again for the 2007 special. We fully expect it to be a great success for us, and for the NAIAS."
NBC's Bill Weber will host the "International Auto Show" on NBC, along with former Daytona 500 winner and 1973 Winston Cup champion, Benny Parsons, and reporter, Marty Snider. The broadcast will include sneak previews of some of the hottest cars on the market and special appearances by some of the biggest names in NASCAR and NBC Entertainment.

"NBC Sports has brought a new level of excitement to the NAIAS providing an insider's view into the glitz and glamour of the show, while introducing the fantastic vehicles to millions of car enthusiasts across the country," Robert Thibodeau, Jr., senior co-chairman of NAIAS 2007, said.

NAIAS 2006 featured 69 vehicle unveilings as well as more than 6,600 journalists from 62 countries and 42 U.S. states including 279 TV networks. It is the single largest media event in North America and a must-attend for international journalists and top industry executives. The NAIAS 2007 expects to unveil more than 70 vehicles and have another year of unmatched media presence.

The "International Auto Show" special will feature the finest production and concept vehicles from NAIAS 2007 and a greater focus on automotive technology and design than ever before. James Shiftan is the producer of the International Auto Show on NBC. Sam Flood is Coordinating Producer, NBC Sports and David Neal is Executive Producer, NBC Sports.

100th Anniversary

Since its inception in 1907, the show has grown from a regional event featuring 17 exhibitors to an internationally-sanctioned show with over 90 exhibitors, adding more than $600 million to the metro Detroit region last year alone. With the support of Detroit area auto dealers, the NAIAS features more new vehicle debuts and garners more media coverage than any show in North America.

NAIAS 2007 Official Dates

Press Preview Days will be held Sunday, Jan. 7 through Tuesday, Jan. 9, 2007. Industry Preview Days will be held on Wednesday, Jan. 10 and Thursday, Jan. 11, 2007. The Charity Preview will be held Friday evening, Jan. 12, 2007. Public Days are Saturday, Jan. 13, through Sunday, Jan. 21, 2007.
